Blog Tour: Until Next Time

First off I would like to thank Tribute Books and Amy Lignor for giving me the opportunity to read Until Next Time!

What the Books All About:

How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?

Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the ‘life’ they’ve been assigned. What they don’t realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.

When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz’s establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel’s path and a warrior’s plans.

From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that’s ripping them apart.

My Review:

First things first, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the cover for this book. The Gothic feel of the cover alone made me very excited to start reading this book. The cracking heart and what it symbolizes (at least to me) in the book is a nice touch.

The book began and I was  engrossed into what Amy Lignor depicts as Heaven. She beautifully describes the scenery and the people (or Angels, saints, and souls, rather). This book takes Angels and souls to another level. I don’t want to give any of the plot away, but you watch Emily, an angel, as she is sent down to earth to help a lost soul. When she is on earth, she is Liz. Honestly, right at first, I was a bit lost on the fact that she was switching from one to the other. Its not explained that well, but I caught on and in no time, it was no longer confusing. In the mean time, this is also happening to her best friend and the one she was meant to be with, Matt. He is Daniel on earth. So the chapters not only switch from Emily to Liz, but some switch from Matt to Daniel. Again, at first, confusing but you get the hang of it.

“We could make our own fire, Liz the Lovely- with enough light to illuminate all of Achill Sound.”

The setting is in the 1800’s Ireland. Which I loved, by the way. It felt like, although there isn’t anything modern getting in the way, the humanity of Liz and Daniel is gut wrenching. I would feel like it was the end of the world if I had to say goodbye and didn’t know when I would talk to my best friend possibly my soul mate, every again.

“I’ll fix this. I’ll make this right. Someday, I’ll make her understand that she was born to be with me.”

When Liz is faced with the opportunity to get away from all she knows, I felt like the choice she made was made rather quickly. Like literally within what felt like 30 mins of being faced with said decision.  This irritated me at first, but THEN there is a FANTASTIC little twist and all is forgotten!

With a few tiny flaws, overall this book is awesome, a must read for any of my readers. You will enjoy all the emotions you feel, and there is much to relate to. I felt as if Liz could be any of us, although our situations may be different, she feels like a real person, like we all have walked in her shoes. Does that make sense? 🙂
